★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The cost of vet care at Hillcrest Animal Hospital has has gotten expensive. My dog was there for a possible UTI. I was charged 99.00 instead of the standard 79.00 (which is already high) for a illness visit instead of a wellness check. The appointment took a total of 12 minutes. This is $495.00 an hour for care... There was no difference in the appointment at all. Just an excuse to charge 20.00 extra dollars. Then pile it on, I was charged $30.00 for (Duoxo) wipes that cost $17.00 at Petco. Now I have to be concerned that my vet is pushing addon's like going to the mechanic. $390.00 for my dogs UTI.There has been a sharp decline in care and personal attention since the departure of the previous vet owner and the sale of the clinic to Lakefield Veterinary Group. It is clear that care about animals is not their primary focus and is now about how much profit their corporation can make. Truly disapointed that this has happened. The staff was not rude at all, I do however, start to question the vets and techinicians that work for these corporations? They have become sales people and not care givers.
April 09 · Rebecca OBrienThis is a private equity group that buys out a lot of animal hospitals such as emerald city emergency clinic in order to make profits for their investors. Please make sure your vet is locally owned and not a private equity owned business as the priorities of the patients and PE-owned business are obviously very different.
December 29 · Joe GAlways check a veterinary clinic to see if it is owned by Lakefield Group or your pet will be irreversibly harmed or killed.Lakefield is not a “veterinary group” but a silly group of wealth management dabblers who are also hostile, heartless animal abusers taking advantage of the public’s trust to take your money and kill your pet for meaningless supplier incentives. All of their clinics have the same reviews and complaints of crazy, hostile staff, and frequent animal deaths and abuse. They killed our dog the first time we walked in that door. He was happy, healthy, ready for life and an upcoming hike.He was scheduled for a routine vaccine and was slaughtered at 8 years old by these criminal monsters who gave him a knowingly deadly vaccine after a bad reaction to the booster. We didn’t know because they didn’t disclose pertinent information. They offered no sympathy, not one kind word. However, they had no issue spitting out more hostility than you can imagine and made the decision to be overtly hurtful, mean and disrespectfully send us away with no follow-up and no referral for end care, no guidance - when he had been so happy for that vaccine as always as vaccines mean either travel, daycare, or simply knowing he is loved, important, and needed.Lakefield staff intentionally gave our dog a deadly vaccine without any disclosure of its controversy, ongoing lawsuits, or that it included 3 additional vaccines that he had never had. Additionally, he showed severe reactions to the booster that we told them about and they heard but chose to ignore. We didn’t associate his symptoms with the vaccine because we’re not informed about what he was given in any way. I just can’t imagine lying to clients and putting a needle of death into a pet that knowingly will cause life long illness or a severely painful death.Supplier incentives are just that good.If I could take anything back it would be walking into that clinic and trusting a staff who planned and knew they were going to killing him either slow or fast and in a cruel, awful, painful way.We did everything we could working with two hospitals, providing home care and keeping hope even with end stage care as he passed quickly.I am so heartbroken and at the time I was so heartbroken I couldn’t come up with anything to say to their hostile, hateful words.Just make sure you never use a clinic owned by Lakefield Group.Every staff member at every location is given the same philosophy and will cruelly gamble with animal torture, bad vaccines, wrong medications or just simply kill your pet the first time you walk in the door as they did to our happy, super healthy 8-year old boy. They are hired for this purpose and they willingly and willfully harm, mangle and kill for profit from your pocket, their supplier incentives and their real motivations as a sub-par group of wealth management dabblers who want nothing to do with pets just to abuse your trust, take your money, harm or kill your pet and get more incentives for doing so.This “veterinary” group clearly hired based on how heartless and hostile a person could be. They have put in place processes for clinics across the country that clearly have a strict criteria for employees to be soulless enough, heartless enough, and somehow manage to harbor an innate and severe hatred of pets and people.Read the other reviews and never give these people an ounce of respect, trust, money, or let them anywhere near an animal if you can stop it.
January 18 · M ASDOne of their owned vet office in Arizona has been losing patients because of the rudeness of the office staff. Vets are very well trained and personable - have been a client for a few years and have poured so much money in there with my 10 dogs only to be disrespected by an office person- when I complained to the higher ups, I was canned as a client- I transferred my records to their sister clinic only to be booted from that practice while having no issues there- I’m afraid by hiring incompetent, rude, disrespectful office staff will bring their own demise- oh and they slandered me/ libel saying I was the one that was abusive- May be worth a trip to my attorney and checking into a complaint with the vet medical board- should anything happen to my dog who is monitored and treated for heart failure- they will be sued
May 10 · Michelle ArsenaultOur dog, Bentley recently passed away 18 hours after having spent 4 days at Kingsland Animal Clinic. They lied to us on multiple occasions and admitted to mistakes that possibly contributed to his passing. Daisy, the Mgr was cold and couldn't care less about the situation.Kingsland, taken over by Lakefield, never contacted us during his stay which would have resulted in us picking him up immediately. Bentley lost 14% of his body weight during his 4 day stay. Daisy, the Mgr specifically told me that "Bentley ate all his food". How could he lose 2-1/2 lbs in 4 days if he ate all his food? His blanket was lost the entire time of his stay. It is a security blanket. Kingsland said they were washing it, and then lost it, but when I returned to collect the blanket after his passing, it was found, but never washed. We confirmed with them that Bentley was Not to have a bath, as he is allergic to ingredients in common pet shampoo. We wrote down, and confirmed this twice with the tech, yet he was bathed anyway which resulted in a severe allergic reaction that caused eye issues to the point where he could barely open his eyes and had constant itching.I would not use this Kingsland animal clinic since there are several other options nearby that were extremely kind to us while dealing with our passed companion and family member.Use a company that agrees that our pets are our family and treats customers with respect. Not this company.Daisy or some other employee will reply below, but we have already spoken with and confirmed these facts with the Medical Director, Dr. Free.
