Slade Veterinary Hospital offers a range of services designed to meet the diverse needs of pets at every stage of their lives. While specific service offerings can evolve, based on public information and general veterinary practices, you can expect comprehensive care.
Wellness and Preventive Care: This foundational service includes routine check-ups, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and nutritional counseling. Regular wellness exams are crucial for early detection of potential health issues and maintaining overall pet health.
Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose illnesses and conditions, the hospital likely employs various diagnostic tools. This can include in-house laboratory services for blood tests, urinalysis, and fecal exams, as well as digital radiography (X-rays) for imaging internal structures.
Surgical Procedures: A range of surgical services is typically offered, from routine spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue surgeries. Such services usually involve pre-surgical evaluations, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative care.
Dental Care: Oral health is a critical component of a pet’s overall well-being. Dental services may include professional dental cleanings, extractions, and guidance on at-home dental hygiene.
Allergy and Dermatology: Given that many pets suffer from allergies and skin conditions, specialized services in this area are common. This might involve allergy testing, medication management, and ongoing treatment plans for chronic skin issues.
Pain Management: For pets recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, or experiencing age-related discomfort, effective pain management strategies are essential. This service focuses on alleviating pain and improving quality of life.
Puppy and Kitten Care: Tailored programs for young pets, focusing on initial vaccinations, deworming, spay/neuter counseling, and behavioral advice to ensure a healthy start in life.

Experienced Veterinary Team: A key highlight for any veterinary practice is the expertise and dedication of its veterinarians and support staff. A highly skilled team ensures that pets receive the best possible medical attention and compassionate care. One customer review specifically highlights a positive experience with a Slade vet who provided insightful and up-to-date information regarding a puppy's condition, even advising a longer waiting period for a procedure based on current research, which ultimately led to a better outcome for the pet and peace of mind for the owner. This demonstrates a commitment to evidence-based practice and patient advocacy.
Personalized Care Plans: Recognizing that each pet is unique, Slade Veterinary Hospital likely emphasizes creating individualized care plans. This means tailoring treatments and recommendations to the specific needs, breed, age, and health status of each animal.
Focus on Client Education: Empowering pet owners with knowledge is crucial. The hospital appears to prioritize educating clients about their pet's health, treatment options, and preventive care measures, allowing owners to make informed decisions. The example of the puppy’s undescended testicle assessment shows how the hospital provides detailed explanations and research-backed advice.
Commitment to Patient Well-being: Beyond medical treatments, a focus on reducing stress for pets during visits, providing a comfortable environment, and demonstrating genuine care contributes significantly to the overall patient experience. While one customer mentioned a billing issue, the fact that management was willing to waive a fee suggests a desire to resolve customer concerns, even if the policy itself was initially unclear.

Slade Veterinary Hospital Reviews
Spent several thousands at Slade in Framingham over last year and a half. Right before one of the last visits we had to attend a family emergency out of state and needless to say didn’t even think about calling a vet to cancel. They told me they will charge me some fee for not letting them know about cancellation in advance, which was not even disclosed to us. Needless to say I refused and then their manager contacted me and said that this time they will wave it, but next time I should let them know in advance. OkayFast forward to todays visit front desk proceeds to add over $160 for no show that I was told is waved. Weird business policy. Charge $400 for 30 min appointment with an allergy shot and some wipes, and then tack nonsense no show fee. Will gladly speak to the manager again to resolve it. But what is the point of me coming back to this place when there is so many others… that do the same thing charge the same, open 24 hours, no appointment needed.
Jun 19, 2025 · Stan VlasovI referred one of my puppy families to Slade Veterinary Hospital for assessment of an undescended testicle in a 6 month old puppy. This puppy was followed by their regular vet who “felt that there was something abnormal about the descended side too” and wanted to perform a pediatric neuter on a labrador puppy. Both the puppy family and I were glad we had this consult done at Slade as the Slade vet found the descended side was normal and said that the latest research showed that the puppy could wait until 2 years of age to have the undescended testicle removed. My puppy family was so pleased with the care at Slade that they are going to travel 6 hours from CT to have the procedure done at Slade!
Mar 22, 2025 · laurie smithI brought my puppy Mickey, 3 months old, to get his second round of distemper shots yesterday. The staff made us feel welcome from the start, from remembering Mickey’s name to even their tone of voice. Everything about it is just so comfortable and homey. When getting his shot, thanks to the attention and care of the doctors, he didn’t even flinch. They played with him and gave us advice on his training and care. Overall it was a great experience.
Oct 23, 2023 · • Koki •I took my cat Lawrence here for the first time today! It was my first vet appointment with Lawrence since he had all his previous shots after he was found on the streets and then I adopted him. He had some red flags in his file from before so the vet tech and vet were just going to try and do as much as he would allow and they did so good with him!! They held him down firmly but gently and wiggled his head to distract him and he was able to get the two shots he needed, his ears cleaned and his nails clipped all within the span of 3 minutes. They also took the time to spray some pheromone spray to calm him down and told me if he needed it they could prescribe gabepentin to calm him next time. Luckily he won’t be needing that but a really good option for anxious pets. I would definitely recommend this office, it was easy, fast and felt the least traumatizing to my little baby Lawrence! (And myself) hehe
