Valley Animal Rehabilitation is solely dedicated to improving the quality of life for pets through specialized and comprehensive animal rehabilitation services. Their state-of-the-art facility offers a variety of evidence-based therapies designed to address musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic issues. Their services include:
- Hydrotherapy: Utilizing an underwater treadmill to provide low-impact exercise, which is ideal for pets with age-related conditions, joint issues, muscle weakness, and those recovering from surgery. The buoyancy of the water reduces stress on joints while the resistance builds strength.
- Laser Therapy: A non-invasive treatment that uses advanced laser technology to reduce pain and inflammation by promoting tissue repair and stimulating cellular activity in affected areas. It's often used for arthritis, post-surgical healing, and general wound healing.
- Therapeutic Exercises: Tailored exercise programs designed to improve balance, restore mobility, build strength, and reduce pain. These often include balance exercises, strengthening activities, and gait training.
- Joint Mobilization: Hands-on manual therapy techniques aimed at improving joint flexibility and reducing stiffness and tightness.
- Neurological Rehabilitation: Targeted rehabilitative exercises and modalities to assist pets in recovering from neurological conditions, such as disc disease, spinal injuries, or strokes.
- Acupuncture: Offered as a complementary therapy to traditional rehabilitation, acupuncture can help trigger the release of natural pain-relief chemicals, reduce inflammation, and enhance the body's self-healing abilities.
- Massage Therapy: Manual techniques to relax muscles, improve circulation, reduce pain, and enhance flexibility.
- Weight Management Programs: Supporting pets who need to lose weight, often incorporating the underwater treadmill for safe, low-impact exercise.
- Customized Rehabilitation Plans: Each pet receives a detailed, individualized treatment plan developed after a thorough evaluation by a veterinarian certified in rehabilitation, such as Dr. Bruce Henderson.
- Post-Surgical Rehabilitation: Crucial support for pets recovering from orthopedic surgeries (e.g., cruciate ligament repair, luxating patella correction, fracture repair) to regain strength and function efficiently.
- Arthritis Management: A key focus on easing pain and improving mobility for pets suffering from chronic conditions like arthritis, allowing them to remain active and comfortable as they age.
Valley Animal Rehabilitation stands out as a premier facility in New Jersey due to several exceptional features and highlights, consistently praised by their grateful clientele.
- Highly Skilled and Compassionate Staff: The reviews universally laud the entire team, from the front desk staff (Kiera, Isabel, and "all the girls") to the therapists (Kelly, Tim) and veterinarians (Dr. Henderson). Terms like "astounding," "amazing," "incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, patient, skilled," and "very thorough, professional, empathetic" are frequently used. This level of dedication creates a profoundly positive and supportive environment for both pets and owners.
- Specialized Expertise in Canine Rehabilitation: This facility is described as "absolutely the BEST facility for canine rehabilitation in NJ." Their focus on a niche, yet critical, area of veterinary medicine allows for deep expertise and advanced techniques in helping dogs recover and thrive.
- Welcoming Environment for All Breeds, Especially Large Ones: Owners of large breeds particularly appreciate the accommodating environment, ensuring that bigger dogs feel comfortable and receive appropriate care without limitations.
- Encouragement of Owner Involvement: A significant highlight is their policy of "encouraging you to be a part of your dog's rehabilitation," allowing owners to be present during every therapy session. This transparency and involvement foster trust and empower owners to continue rehabilitation exercises at home.
- Tangible Results and Improved Quality of Life: Pet owners report "significant improvement" in their dogs' conditions, such as an 11-year-old dog with luxating patella moving from "getting worse" to "improved significantly," or a dog with arthritis showing marked pain relief. The consistent positive outcomes underscore the effectiveness of their therapies.
- Efficient and Professional Administrative Support: The front desk staff is praised for being "efficient" and promptly submitting claims, alleviating a common stress point for pet owners dealing with insurance.
- Pets Love Going There: A testament to the positive atmosphere and gentle approach, multiple reviews mention pets getting "super excited in the car" or "absolutely loved going there," transforming what could be a stressful experience into an enjoyable one for the animal.

Valley Animal Rehabilitation Reviews
This is a place that treats your pets with care and attention. I especially appreciate their welcoming environment for large breeds. My dog mainly sees Kelly for PT, and she is astounding with him. He gets super excited in the car when he can tell we're on our way here. I brought my dog here to ease his pain from arthritis. My only regret is not doing it sooner.
Nov 20, 2024 · Laura AgyThis is absolutely the BEST facility for canine rehabilitation in NJ. Kiera, Isabel and all the girls at the front desk always made us feel welcomed and did I mention how efficient these girls are? Submitting my claims right after each visit. All the staff is AMAZING!I brought my 11yr old dog Coco here for physical therapy due to bilatetal luxating patella which was getting worse. We saw Dr. Henderson for an evaluation and he was very thorough, professional, empathetic, really took his time to answer any questions I had and made a detailed plan for my dog Coco for the next 4 weeks.Tim was our rehabilitation therapist, who we saw twice a week for 4 weeks and he is AMAZING! Tim is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, patient, skilled, and you can tell he absolutely loves his job.I love that they encourage you to be a part of your dog's rehabilitation and I was able to be there during every therapy session. My dog absolutely loved going there. We also saw Kelly a few times for physical therapy and she was just as great. My dog has improved significantly and now we're on a maintenance program for which we'll look forward to seeing Tim once a month.
Sep 29, 2023 · Liz CastroIf I could give ten stars I would!!My dog Remi had TPLO surgery eight weeks ago and has seen Dr. Henderson and his team twice a week ever since. From the moment I called and had an evaluation with Dr. Henderson, he was professional, detailed, empathetic, and took tons of time discussing our rehab program.Due to covid we couldn’t enter the building, and the therapists come out to get Remi. Each and every time we arrive, we are greeted with a huge smile, a genuine concern for updates from home, and the team answers any questions we have in great detail. Regan and Tim never fail to send photos and videos every step of the way.Every member of the team has been so helpful and you can see they have a genuine love for what they do. I cannot thank them enough for taking such good care of our dog.Today was our last day of rehab, and Remi is doing amazing. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for rehab for their pet!
