We had a very bad experience today. It was not our first time here, not first time at a vet either , but today was bad!I feel like they did not treat my dog right. I have a rescue staffordshire terrier, the most docile and calm dog. Not a mean bone in her body. Never heard her growl or show teeth. You can take a bone from her, she will let you.We walk in and the vet tech SKY and one more girl grab my dog and start holding her so the vet can do the vaccination shots. No greeting, no petting , no treat, just start holding her down. Usually you can give my dog shots without holding her down, she lets you do it. Once they grabbed my dog starts to panic. Then they decide to put a muzzle on her for no reason. She is not aggressive, that muzzle made her more anxious. I trusted them with my dog but they did not know what they were doing. After like 5-10 min they said they could not finish the services, could not give her heart worms blood test, because “ she was not cooperative “ I agreed to pay $149 for the shots and a heart worm test. They denied us heart warm test and medication , but instead of saying to comeback and complete the services, they said to pay $147 and then comeback another day and pay separately for the test which is $50 alone. I just wanted to get my dog what she needed , tell me to comeback on another day and finish the service we had agreed on. Do not mistreat my dog and change my package deal because you grabbed my dog. It just common sense. So not shopping at Petco anymore , you know we got amazon, you need to up your customer service, especially the treatment the actual pets we spend money for. That treatment of my dog , and blaming her for not cooperating? She was just frantically moving her paws because you grabbed her back side and another person her front side without even talking to her and saying a couple of nice words. They also banned me for arguing with them, and calling the out on not being calm when working with pets.I called customer service , let’s see if Petco/Vetco makes it right. - Natalya Vyashenko

Located within a Petco store in Buford, Georgia, Vetco is a unique veterinary provider that focuses on preventative health care, including vaccinations, parasite control, and microchipping. While they do not function as a full-service animal hospital for complex surgeries or emergency cases, their dedicated model allows them to offer high-quality preventative services at a fraction of the cost. The team of licensed veterinarians and professional staff is committed to making core health maintenance a simple, stress-free, and positive experience for both pets and their owners. By offering a focused range of services, Vetco provides a vital link in the Georgia pet care community, making it easier for local residents to proactively manage their pets' long-term health.

Location and Accessibility

Vetco Vaccination Clinic is conveniently situated at 3264 Buford Dr Ste 110, Buford, GA 30519, USA. A key part of their business model is being easily accessible, and their location inside the local Petco store is a prime example of this. This allows pet owners to combine a trip for vaccinations with their regular shopping for pet supplies, food, and other necessities, saving both time and effort. In addition to its convenient location, the facility is designed with accessibility in mind for all customers. Vetco provides a wheelchair-accessible car park, a wheelchair-accessible entrance, and a wheelchair-accessible toilet. This ensures that every pet owner, regardless of mobility challenges, can bring their animal for a visit with ease and comfort. It's important to note that Vetco operates on an appointment-required basis, which helps to ensure a smooth flow of service and minimizes wait times. This planning feature allows the staff to dedicate specific time to each pet, providing a more focused and personal experience.

Features / Highlights

What makes Vetco Vaccination Clinic a noteworthy choice for Georgia residents is its commitment to providing high-quality, accessible care. While a mixed review highlights a negative experience, it also underscores the importance of communication and how some pets may need a different approach. On the other hand, many customers have positive experiences that showcase the clinic's core strengths.

  • Affordable and Transparent Pricing: A major highlight is their ability to offer essential services "at a fraction of the vet prices," as noted in a positive review. This makes preventative care more accessible to a broader range of pet owners.
  • Knowledgeable and Friendly Staff: A positive review praised the staff for being "very friendly and knowledgeable," emphasizing their ability to provide excellent service.
  • Efficiency and Convenience: By focusing on a limited set of preventative services, Vetco can streamline the process, as noted by the customer who received "Excellent service! Arrived and was promptly greeted, checked in, and taken back." This model is ideal for pet owners with busy schedules.

What is Worth Choosing

When considering veterinary care in Georgia, Vetco Vaccination Clinic stands out as an excellent choice for a specific type of pet owner. While a review highlighted a difficult experience with a rescue dog's anxiety, this also brings to light a crucial point about the clinic's model: they specialize in essential services and operate on a more streamlined schedule, which may not be the best fit for every animal, particularly those with extreme anxiety or complex medical needs. However, for the majority of pets that are well-socialized and in need of routine care, Vetco offers unparalleled value.

The primary reason to choose Vetco is the exceptional blend of affordability and convenience. For core services like vaccinations, deworming, and microchipping, they provide a cost-effective solution without compromising on the quality of the products or the professional staff. This helps make crucial preventative care accessible to more families. The "excellent service" noted in a review, where the customer was "promptly greeted, checked in, and taken back," demonstrates their efficiency and commitment to a smooth customer experience. The sheer convenience of being able to book an appointment for a specific time and location within a store you likely already frequent is a massive benefit for busy Georgia residents. While it is important to have a full-service veterinarian for emergencies and complex health issues, Vetco serves as a valuable and highly efficient partner for all your pet's basic health maintenance needs, providing an essential and affordable link in a comprehensive pet health plan.
