My horse Chicken Little had a very unusual surgery at this beautiful clinic on December 30, 2024. The surgery seemed very involved to us and involved removing a piece of her skull in her face, removing a cyst, and replacing the bone. She spent a week at 3H and then continued her recovery at home where she is boarded. She had her post-op appointment after about 3 weeks. After her stitches and Foley catheter were removed, she started healing quickly. About a month post-surgery she started exercising again. She wasn’t completely healed as her nasal passages had to regenerate, but she was healthy enough to do light work. She did very well and was happy to be back at her job. She had her first full barrel race this weekend (late March) at the Wild Heart Show Series, and ran beautifully. Since her surgery she has been performing better than she ever has since we’ve had her. I know she is really feeling good and feeling herself now…for the first time in a couple years at least. Apparently this was an issue before we adopted her and we were unaware.Dr. Fernando and team explained everything to us (multiple times if needed), and was always available to answer questions if something was concerning me.Thanks for taking such amazing care of her and helping us through the process as well!!! We appreciate you so much!!!We have been clients of 3H about 2 years and love them!!! - Katrina Payne
