The hospital's location is a significant advantage in an emergency situation, as its central placement and proximity to major freeways allow for quick and efficient travel from a variety of surrounding communities. Public information also notes that the facility offers ample parking, which is a key feature that reduces stress for pet owners arriving with an injured or ill animal. The hospital's presence on Foothill Boulevard, a well-known and easily navigated street, ensures that even those unfamiliar with the area can find it without difficulty. The facility itself is described as being "very clean and modern," with a feel more akin to a human hospital than a traditional vet clinic. This professional and well-maintained environment is a reassuring sign for pet owners who are already dealing with a high-stress situation. As a specialty and emergency animal hospital, ACCESS Pasadena offers a wide range of services that go far beyond what a typical primary care veterinarian provides. Their model is built around advanced critical care, emergency medicine, and specialty services, often requiring a referral from a general practitioner. The services are available 24/7, which is an invaluable feature for pet owners during off-hours emergencies. The services provided at ACCESS Pasadena include:
24/7 Emergency Care: The hospital is always open and equipped to handle life-threatening situations and non-critical urgent conditions. They operate on a triage system, similar to a human ER, where the most critical cases are seen first, ensuring that pets with the most serious needs get immediate attention.
Advanced Critical Care: For pets that require extended hospitalization and round-the-clock monitoring, the hospital has an advanced critical care unit with dedicated, highly-trained staff to manage complex and life-threatening conditions.
Specialty Surgery: The hospital has board-certified surgeons who are able to perform a wide range of complex procedures, from urgent, life-saving surgeries to intricate orthopedic and soft-tissue operations, as evidenced by a customer review for an urgent cat surgery.
Compassionate End-of-Life Services: A deeply moving and professional service offered by the hospital is their support for pet owners facing the difficult decision of euthanasia. As highlighted in a customer review, the staff provides a private, uninterrupted space for families to say goodbye, and they offer thoughtful keepsakes like fur clippings, whiskers, and paw pad prints. They are also known for their kind and professional handling of the procedure, ensuring a peaceful transition for the pet.
Advanced Diagnostics: The hospital utilizes cutting-edge diagnostic and imaging equipment, such as X-Ray and Ultrasound, to provide accurate and timely diagnoses for a wide range of conditions.
The key features and highlights of ACCESS Pasadena consistently revolve around its professional excellence and the compassionate nature of its staff, even in the most difficult circumstances. A primary highlight is the hospital's reputation for being "trustworthy and compassionate," as noted by a client who was facing a high-cost, high-stakes emergency. Every staff member, from the front desk to the doctors and nurses, is described as being "incredibly kind, professional, and thorough." This level of consistent professionalism is a standout feature for a 24/7 emergency facility. The staff's commitment to transparency is also a major highlight, as they are praised for explaining "every step of the treatment plan" and being upfront about "all the risks" involved. This clear communication helps pet owners feel more in control during a very stressful time. Another key feature is the hospital's clean and modern environment. The facility is compared to a human hospital, which contributes to a feeling of trust and competence. Perhaps one of the most powerful highlights is the compassionate end-of-life care they provide. The staff's willingness to give a family three hours of uninterrupted time to say goodbye to their beloved pet, and their thoughtfulness in providing priceless keepsakes, demonstrates a level of empathy that goes far beyond standard veterinary care. The staff's ability to calmly and professionally explain the euthanasia process and allow the family to hold their pet afterward is a profoundly meaningful service. These features collectively create a hospital that is not only a leader in veterinary medicine but also a beacon of compassion for the community.

ACCESS Pasadena Reviews
I know a lot of people online warn against Access, but honestly, my experience with the Pasadena location was very positive. Yes — it’s expensive. I don’t have pet insurance and ended up spending over $10,000. But my cat Bobo needed surgery urgently, and this was the only place I fully trusted.Every staff member I interacted with — from the front desk to the nurses and doctors — was incredibly kind, professional, and thorough. They explained every step of the treatment plan and were transparent about all the risks, which made a stressful situation much easier to manage. The hospital itself is also very clean and modern — it honestly felt more like a human hospital than a vet clinic. Working with them was a smooth, reassuring experience despite the high cost.If you’re in an emergency and budget isn’t the top priority, I would definitely recommend Access Pasadena. It’s not cheap, but in my experience, it’s a trustworthy and compassionate place.
Jun 03, 2025 · Beini JinI really loved this clinic, they helped my cat cross the rainbow bridge in the best way possible for his situation. We spent about 3 hours, uninterrupted to say goodbye and the vet offered a solution to hopefully not let him pass out be in too much pain before the rest of our family arrived. Rondo was absolutely everything to us and it seems they understood that. I requested to see him as he was stabilized in the back, they gladly let us in to pet him and talk to him. I also requested if they could get his whiskers after along with another set of pawpad prints and his nose. They put the whiskers tied in a little string with the bags of clippings of fur which were all free keepsakes, and really priceless. They didn't tell us though that if he had another seizure in there they can give him more medicine into his IV. He had about 3 more seizures in the exam room as my dad and sister weren't ready to let go of him. When it came time to push the button, the vet was kind and explained the process calmly and professionally and let us hold him after he was gone. The total was about $1k for a goodbye and have him live just a little longer for us to be ready. It's a miracle my dad was able to afford it all upfront as they have no payment plans. I'm glad he's not suffering anymore.
May 19, 2025 · Cat CruzI brought my cat in for severe anemia, and Dr. Tracy’s only recommendation was three blood transfusions and a three-day hospital stay costing around $10,000 with no guarantee it would work. When I asked about more affordable options, I was bluntly told there were none and that my cat would likely bleed out if I didn’t at least try .The way this was delivered left me feeling hopeless and I was seriously pushed toward euthanizing my cat because they made it seem like there was no hope and no other way forward. Until I decided to take my cat home and got a second opinion at Dr. Domotor’s Animal Hospital the next day . They immediately suggested a steroid treatment to help her blood levels. Two weeks later, my cat is healthy and back to normal and the medicine almost around $41 which is crazy to think about how affordable it was that fixed my cat with just medicine and I didn’t need to spend 10k ! Also it’s incredibly upsetting that the first clinic offered no alternatives. It felt like they cared more about money than actually helping my pet.
Jul 11, 2025 · jocelyn barreraThey saved my dogs life twice this week :( was very quick, very professional, and realistic. Inside is really nice!Shout out to jasmin, Dr Cole, Dr Wong!
May 25, 2025 · Kathy ChangI have received nothing but the best, most thorough, and thoughtful care for my dog here. They are fully staffed with different levels of medical staff. It is expensive, so this place is for the cases that no one else is going to be able to appropriately take on, and for pet owners who do not want to spare any expense. What I have paid for is actually peace of mind. Several specialists are able to weigh in on critical cases and act immediately. All staff I have encountered are friendly, professional, accommodating, understanding, knowledgeable, and intuitive. Overall, I am very grateful my vet recommended this place to transfer my dog during her greatest time of need.
