Chattaneuter is a specialized spay/neuter clinic, meaning their services are primarily focused on this crucial procedure. However, they also offer a variety of supplemental services at a low cost, which can be performed while your pet is already under anesthesia for surgery. Their core offerings include:
- Spay/Neuter Surgery: This is their primary service for both dogs and cats, a key component in preventing pet overpopulation.
- Surgery and Anesthesia: All surgeries are performed by qualified veterinarians, and anesthesia is monitored to ensure the safety of your pet.
- Vaccine Clinics: They offer essential vaccinations, such as the Rabies Vaccination, often at a reduced cost when done in conjunction with surgery.
- Diagnostic Tests: You can add on a variety of tests, including Fecal Tests, Heartworm Tests, and Felv/Fiv Tests, to screen your pet for common diseases.
- Minor Procedures: Services like A Nail Trim and Ear Cleaning are available as convenient add-ons.
- Pet Taxi: The clinic also has a Pet Taxi service to help owners without reliable transportation get their pets to and from the clinic.
- Exploratory Surgery: In cases where a pet may have internal issues, they are equipped to perform more detailed surgical procedures.
Chattaneuter is more than just a place for low-cost procedures; it stands out due to several key features and highlights that enhance the overall experience for pet owners in Tennessee. A significant highlight is their dedication to clear and proactive communication. Clients receive detailed instructions for both pre-op drop-off and post-op recovery. The staff is known for being responsive to follow-up questions and even calling to check on a pet's recovery, as seen in the review about the kitty who developed a seroma. This level of personalized attention is rare in high-volume clinics and is a testament to their commitment to animal welfare. Furthermore, the availability of low-cost add-ons, like pain medication and basic procedures, makes comprehensive care accessible and affordable. The presence of a Pet Taxi service is an invaluable resource for the community, removing a significant barrier for many pet owners who may not have transportation to get their animals the care they need.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I had our 2 6month old kitties spayed here March 11th. I had to schedule the appointment 2months out. Our vet recommended chattaneuter as a lower cost option. It would have cost us around $450 a cat at our vet instead of $80 a cat. Drop off was easy. They sent clear instructions for drop off and recovery ahead of time. They called and let me know when the cats were done and what time they could be picked up. They also went over recovery instructions at pickup and had option to get 3 days of pain meds for $5 which I got for both cats. They also had cones for $10 each to prevent licking which I got, but quickly realized was not going to be a good option for our cats. They went berserk with them on and kept getting them off. I highly suggest getting a donut shaped e-collar ahead of time to use. I got two from petco. They made recovery so much easier on our kitties as they don’t block their peripheral vision or interfere with eating or drinking. They were bothered by them at all. Chattaneuter was very responsive with follow up questions and I was able to contact them by phone as well as email pictures to them. When one of our kitties developed a seroma form suture reaction, they let me bring her back in to look at it in person and gave her an antibiotic shot as precaution and suggested less activity and she is doing great. They even called the next day to check on her. They do have other add-ons they offer while your pet is already there like vaccines. For example you can have them trim your cats claws while they are asleep for $7. I was not expecting such great customer service and quality work and care with it being a high volume, low cost clinic, but I highly recommend to anyone who needs a cat spayed. If you are having multiple cats spayed, plan to have 2 separate rooms for them to recover in as they will not recognize each other at first because the medicines change their smell. We were able to safely reintroduce ours after a week apart but it took a couple days. I was not prepared to have them in separate spaces for that long.
March 28 · Megan SaturdayI have used Chattaneuter twice so far and both times have been great. Drop off is easy! Pick up is a breeze also! They call you and communicate after your pet is out of surgery to let you know how things went, they recommended different medicines they think your pet needs to go home with to feel more relaxed and recover better. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
March 08 · Nick NeeleyThey have changed how they do things here since my last pet spay/neuter. They do a fantastic job with all the pets and my pets have never had any trouble after surgery. However, they changed the check-in and out process and now you stand outside in the sweltering heat waiting in line for someone to come out and fetch your pup. If this is the way they want to do things they should have shade or sheltered seating. I feel sorry for older folks who have to do this...this is horrible!
July 08 · Molly AnnWe had a great experience, getting my goldendoodle puppy neutered! Very friendly staff, and you won’t find a better price in town. It does take a while to get scheduled (for us about 3 mos in advance) but otherwise I would definitely recommend their services to a friend.
June 07 · Daniel StacyGreat clinic. Easy online process to make an appt. Pay upfront. $60 to fix a male cat and rabies was included. Unfortunately our male, one of his testicle wasn't decended, so they were unable to complete the surgery. Was refunded. Staff was very friendly and quick to get everyone in. You sign in outside the building with your info and they call you when it's time. Even though I couldn't do my male, I will be back to do my other felines in the future. Affordable and local to me by 30-40min.
