★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1These guys saved my cat!!My cat had a terrible accident, she jumped from our balcony and landed on the fence. We were lucky and the animal hospital got her in the operation room immediately. They did a great job treating her and patching her back. She is now in great shape and running around like she used to. I am extremely thankful for their professional treatment, their care, and their fair price (that was mostly covered by the insurance). I'll always be your advocate, thank you!!I'll save you the post-op pictures and share our happy Phoebe from Halloween (a month after the incident!)
January 14 · Yaron CohenSo have discovered Logan Square due to my foster's from a local shelter. I cannot say enough about Dr.Besan! I feel we speak same language! I have been non stop since '97 caring for rescue/foster/rehabilitation and puppy mill socialization. Used to be breed specific but now take the old and moldy/hospice cases both dogs and cats.He is an amazingly kind vet and human!!! The staff is so nice and my issue is I am in Andersonville so used to being close to my vets but seriously thinking of bringing my other former medical fosters now hospice from different shelter now to him!The city has made parking a challenge but he is sooo worth it!!! I used to have a vet like him at Uptown Animal but once retired lost that compassion and understanding. They are few and far between but he is that vet!!! So nice and kowledgeable/sensible with my old animals condition doesn't give the emergency vet hard sell of extras like excessive labs or other treatments! So many milking dollars but he is just respectful and straight on where your at and what to reasonably expect insofar as your animals care. He is a hidden gem! If you need a vet who you want to tell u straight talk and not gouging u to rack up dollars go see him because he is awesome!!!
July 05 · Elizabeth FalatoThey have treated all of our pets for years. Very knowledgeable and caring if a bit more nonsense. They did a great job with our cat’s surgery for less than half the price that another animal hospital quoted.
April 19 · Thomas LisBack in Nov. 2021 I had a bad experience. Took my Maltese there as he had a lump near his lymph nodes. And I was concerned it was lymphoma, they did some diagnostic test and talked me into taking out some of his teeth in case the lump was from an infection. Cost me 700$, they gave antibiotics took his teeth out, and gave some pain meds.Fast forward a week later they tell me the test couldn’t find cancer cells, and I told them I didn’t believe that was the case as the antibiotics didnt result in anything. They told me to come back in and that they’d redo the cancer diagnostic.Another week or so passes and they call confirming Lymphoma. My dog’s condition was deteriorating fast and I’d just spend over 700$ all for naught. After that I decided to euthanize him at CACC because he was at the end stages where they just pee and defecate in one spot and are pretty immobile throughout the day.(If you are gonna euthanize a pet , I would recommend another place other than CACC so you can actually be there for your pet during their final moments but this is off topic from Logan Square Animal Hospital)I had another bad run in with this hospital when I adopted a cat from Paws a few years later in 2023 because I found blood in her stool. I never heard my cat make the noises that came out of her mouth undergoing treatment at Logan Square Animal Hospital. She was uncharacteristically aggressive with the vet and vet tech and they took her into the back to do some procedures to scan her G. I. Cost about 500$ and they said the item she ingested may naturally pass and to follow up in 24-48 hours if blood remained in the stool. While she was in the back undergoing her procedures she bit the vets and defecated all over herself. I never brought her back after that. Can’t really justify that amount of stress for her so since then I’ve be looking elsewhere for pet care.Pretty pricey place and I feel as though I’ve been upsold on a lot of unnecessary things over the years with my other visits here prior to 2021.
June 09 · Armani ADon't walk, RUN away from this "animal hospital" if you want your pet to live. The last thing you want to hear is that your dog has a tumor, which by the way, was missed by the first doctor that saw him and when questioned, he said it's because he "wasn't sure." They proceeded to say "forget about the tumor" and focus on his teeth cleaning, which we would of had to pay over $700 for since they thought that's what was causing my dog's rapid weight loss (went from 28 lbs to 14 lbs in a matter of weeks), refusal to eat, fever, lethargy, and uncontrollable shaking.Stunned that we would be told to "forget about the tumor", we took my dog for a second opinion elsewhere and that doctor said that the tumor is the first thing that needs to be addressed and everything else is secondary. This doctor called it right away and could FEEL the tumor, without looking at the x-ray Logan Square took, and suggested we do an ultrasound ASAP to see if it has metastasized. He even mentioned how he thinks this place was more interested in making money than my dog.Years of taking my dog here, I'm so disappointed and angry with how they handled this matter and wonder if this could have been diagnosed earlier had they done a more thorough physical each time. Maybe we wouldn't be discussing euthanasia pending the ultrasound results with the new vet.Skip this place for the sake of your pet and your sanity. They're incompetent, have absolutely no sense of urgency, don't care about your pet's wellbeing, lack sympathy, and honestly, it's filthy and your pets deserve better.UPDATE: upon reading other reviews, this sort of thing has happened before. This place should be shut down. Now my dog is at an emergency clinic and the doctor there is very worried and said this type of large mass doesn’t grow overnight. Had they done proper examinations that led to early detection, maybe he would have a chance at living. But instead, the incompetent, heartless doctors at this clinic told us to “forget about the tumor.” Now, we pray for a miracle as my sweet boy is undergoing numerous tests.UPDATE 2: Logan Square insisted that my dog’s issues were coming from his teeth. They were WRONG like we knew they were. He had CANCER and has since passed away. But “forget about the tumor” they told us….AVOID THIS PLACE.
