Wake Veterinary Medical Center Reviews
I cannot thank this emergency vet hospital enough for the incredible care they provided. From the moment I called, they were extremely responsive and fully prepared for my arrival. My dog was actively seizing for nearly 20 minutes and drifting in and out of consciousness, and they were ready the second I walked through the door. The staff greeted me immediately and rushed him back to stabilize him. They were incredibly supportive, kind, and communicative throughout the entire process. They truly made one of the scariest moments of my life feel more manageable and gave me complete confidence that my dog was in the best hands possible. What really stood out was not only the level of care but also the transparency and fairness in pricing. I had braced myself for a multi-thousand dollar ICU stay (especially after past experiences with NC State Vet charging $3000+ per night), but his overnight stay here was around $1500–$1700. That level of cost efficiency, paired with their life-saving care, is nearly unheard of.They also never tried to upsell or push unnecessary treatments. Every payment or deposit came with a clear breakdown, and I felt respected and informed the entire time. I will 100% bring any of my fur babies here in an emergency. They saved my dog’s life and gave me peace of mind during an incredibly stressful time. Absolutely phenomenal team.
Jul 02, 2025 · Isabel CarvajalLast night was our final trip to Wake Vet with our beloved Parker. The staff has always been top notch and so caring. Parker had two surgeries at Wake Vet over his 11 years and he always received excellent care and love. Last night was no exception. Sara was an absolute rock and was so supportive and caring during this incredibly sad night. Our family will always be grateful for the loving and caring staff at Wake vet.
May 24, 2025 · Paige KirkI have only positive words for the entire staff here. Dr. Morrow and Dr. Gardner performed nothing short of a miracle when it came to saving my dog. The expertise, kindness, and empathy shown by the whole team made a traumatic experience a whole lot easier. No one ever wants to have their animal go through an emergency, but if it’s going to happen this is exactly where you should bring your pets. Thanks again to everyone who saved my sweet girl, Ruby!
Jun 21, 2025 · Emily Wentworth (Em)We arrived at WVMC at 6:30 with our cat, who was lethargic and would not eat, we left at 2:30am. We didn’t get seen by a doctor until 1:30am. The vet tech didn’t keep us updated at all. We had to go out to ask what was going on. We were told at 11:00 that blood tests were needed. The vet tech gave us a low and high quote. We checked the low quote and signed. She said, they were taking the blood then and the test would be ready in about 30 minutes. If any other test were needed the doctor would come in and talk with us before the test were done.At 12:20 I asked about the test the vet tech said she lost track of time and was doing the blood work then. The doctor didn’t come in to talk with us until after 1:30. When the vet tech went to check us out after 2:00am. There was added items on the receipt we had NOT been informed about. Not a good experience for us or my precious cat “Captain”.
Jul 04, 2025 · Charlene PriceI took my setter to the ER for lethargy and GI upset that had lasted for days. The staff here was great. They listened to me regarding the symptoms my dog was experiencing. They treated my dog, and me, with kindness and compassion. The charges for everything they did for my dog were totally reasonable in my many years of experiences with dogs that needed specialty care. They would be my first choice should Pepper need emergency care in the future.
