This model aims to encourage consistent preventive care.
- Accessibility and Wide Network: As part of a national network, OWPs are often transferrable between Banfield locations, which can be a benefit for pet owners who travel or move within Massachusetts or across the country. The Newton location is easily accessible in a key commercial area.
- Professional and Attentive Staff (Positive Experiences): Many clients report positive interactions, noting the staff as "very attentive and professional." Pets, in some cases, are "always happy to be there," indicating a welcoming environment and gentle handling by the team. Cleanliness of exam rooms is also frequently highlighted.
- Comprehensive Diagnostic Capabilities: Banfield hospitals are generally equipped with modern diagnostic tools like in-house labs and digital X-ray capabilities, allowing for quicker diagnostic results for various conditions.

- Routine and Preventative Focus: The emphasis on preventive care, including regular exams, vaccinations, and screenings, is a strong positive for pet owners looking to proactively manage their pet's health.
However, it is crucial to address the mixed customer feedback. While some experiences are "A+," others highlight serious concerns regarding urgency, compassion, and the perceived thoroughness of care, particularly in critical situations. These contrasting reviews indicate that while the structured wellness plans and staff attentiveness are often praised, the experience, particularly during urgent or complex medical scenarios, may vary, prompting some clients to seek alternative care.

Banfield Pet Hospital Reviews
I'm devastated. Our family dog was seen at this clinic this morning because we knew something wasn’t right. He was barely looked at. Hours later, he passed away.We trusted this place to help him, and we feel completely failed. There was no urgency, no compassion, and no real attempt to understand what was happening with his health. Now he's gone.I’m writing this because I don’t want any other family to go through the same pain we are feeling now. If your animal is unwell, please think twice before bringing them here.
Jun 28, 2025 · vicbia98Although my Dog is not crazy about visits to the Vet, he's always happy to be there. That tells me he's treated well. The staff is very attentive and professional. The exam rooms are always clean. My experience have been always A+. Highly recommended.
May 15, 2025 · Sandra AndrewDO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE. They don’t care about your pet’s wellbeing, only thing on their mind is money. The medication there is overly expensive and you can easily find cheaper medication elsewhere. My dog needed eye drops and they charged us 50 dollars for eye drops that we could have gotten for 10 dollars at Chewy. My dog passed away because they couldn’t do their job properly.
